Insights into the Limitations of Technology in Medicine at the COSMO Science Forum
On 29 October, the Women@DDc Network, in cooperation with Barkhausen Institut, organized an Afterwork Talk about “Limitations of Technology in Medicine” at COSMO Science Forum. Three experts from different medical disciplines from within the Women@DDc Network were invited to the panel to share their experiences regarding technology in healthcare and reflecting on the challenges:
- Prof. Dr. Larysa Baraban, Head of Life Science Nanomicrosystems, @Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and Dresden University of Technology, Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health
- Katharina Langton, M.Sc., Academic Director of the Midwifery B.Sc. degree program, Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus, Dresden University of Technology
- Lilli Meseck, midwifery student, 4th year, Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus, Dresden University of Technology
One of the key insights from this exchange was that new technologies in medicine are inevitable. The crucial question is how we will harness their potential to our advantage—and whether we are prepared to do so.
Women@DDc was founded in 2022 from passionate colleagues of the BI and the Diversity Management of TU Dresden to connect female scientists and science managers within the DRESDEN-concept research alliance and to enhance their visibility.
