Dr.-Ing. Konstantin Klamka awarded innovation prize
On 12 November, our Associate Group Leader of the Connected Robotics Lab, Dr.-Ing. Konstantin Klamka, was awarded the Innovation Prize of the Industrieclubs Sachsen e. V.. This honor was bestowed upon him for his outstanding dissertation titled “Blending the Material and Digital World for Hybrid Interfaces,” which he completed at the Chair of Multimedia Technology (Interactive Media Lab Dresden) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raimund Dachselt, his doctoral advisor.
About the Dissertation
In his dissertation, Konstantin Klamka researched how future human-computer interfaces can be designed in such a way that they integrate seamlessly and intuitively into our real world. He examined how these interfaces can make use of physical affordances and at the same time provide useful digital functions. Based on real applications, ranging from interactive paper and new types of wearables and smart textiles, innovative hybrid interfaces were designed, implemented and evaluated. The prototypes demonstrate how people will be able to interact with digital systems in the future.
Career at Barkhausen Institut
After completing his PhD, Konstantin Klamka joined our team at the Barkhausen Institut. Here he contributes his expertise in research and development of complex software and hardware interfaces, develops novel demonstrators and prototypes for a trustworthy connected world. BI presents them to a broad audience at scientific conferences as well as in science communication.
We congratulate Konstantin on this well-deserved honor! We feel proud that he is part of our team!
