A playful way to discover medical technology

With the “Circulation” science cache, the COSMO Science Forum invites visitors to take an interactive tour through the current “Dr. Future” exhibition. Visitors can solve puzzles and gain exciting insights into medical technology at various stations.

Like a treasure hunt, this Science Cache involves finding four hidden stations in the exhibition space. At each station there is a new medical-related puzzle. Participants learn more about the DNA model, how to measure an ECG or how to decipher Braille. Finally, the newly acquired knowledge is tested in a first aid quiz. Once all stations have been successfully completed, a bonus task on neural networks is unlocked, in which a challenging logic puzzle must be solved.

The Science Cache was developed by scientist Sebastian Vorberg from the Connected Robotics Lab at BI. His aim with the Cache is to use gamification - a playful approach - to create an easily accessible way to engage with data and medical technology.

The Science Cache is suitable for participants aged 10 and over. It takes about 45 minutes to complete and can be done using your own smartphone or a tablet provided.

Individuals can participate without registration during opening hours.

School classes can combine the activity with a guided tour on request. This extended program lasts 90 minutes and can be booked by emailing lernlabor@barkhauseninstitut.org.
