Visit of the Girls' Day Academy
In October, two groups of the Girls' Day Academy visited us. We first introduced them to the professional field of Science Communication, which is an intersection between STEM and education. Meanwhile, they had lively conversations and Q&A sessions with our OpenLab educator Carolin Fischer.
This was followed by our workshop 'Escape Room with Dr. Data,’ in which the 18 girls learned about one of the most exciting methods of communication - the educational game. Supervised by our scientists, the participants were able to solve all the tasks at the end of the day and expand their knowledge of data protection.
The Girls' Day Academy Dresden addresses schoolgirls in grades 7 to 9 who want to explore modern technology and learn about scientific content in a hands-on way during the career orientation phase. Every week over the course of one school year, they visit various educational partners to discover the wide range of professions in the STEM field.
