Opening of the COSMO Science Forum

The official opening of the COSMO Science Forum took place on Wednesday, 28 September 2022 at 15:30 at the Kulturpalast Dresden. 

The Barkhausen Institut and the Department Speculative Transformation of the TU Dresden offered the approximately 70 invited guests the opportunity to get to know this new place of science communication before the opening to the public.

The presentation of the Science Forum in the foyer of the Kulturpalast was followed by a reception and a tour of the new premises. Here, visitors were able to view the Urban Mobility exhibition with the interactive IoT (Internet of Things) panorama and try out the robot air hockey and the patchCROP agricultural simulator. Scientists from the Barkhausen Institut answered questions or explained the simulators.

Dresden is one of the most active research centers in Germany. The new COSMO Science Forum was created in the heart of the old town with the aim of better reflecting the diversity of the scientific community in the future and engaging in more direct dialogue with the public.

Embedded in the multifaceted environment of the Kulturpalast and supported by many partners, from 4 October a place opened weekly from Tuesday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. where people can ask questions, conduct research and shape the future together.
