PRESS RELEASE

Interactive journey into the future of medicine: Opening of the exhibition “Dr. Future – Medical technology from Dresden Science”

From October 1, 2024, the COSMO Science Forum in the Kulturpalast Dresden will be showing the new exhibition “Dr. Future – Medical technology from Dresden Science.” Scientists from Dresden's research institutions will present their current projects and take you on an interactive journey into the future of medicine.

The “Dr. Future” exhibition showcases how continuous research and innovation can improve the quality of our life and even save lives. The exhibition highlights the advances in medical technology which are made possible by the collaboration between engineering and medicine, from prevention and diagnosis to surgery. With their inventions, Dresden scientists are helping to develop novel treatment options that can be used both in everyday life and in medical facilities.

Visitors can find out how artificial intelligence will support medical diagnosis in the future, what ingenious implants are made of textiles and how novel medical tests are designed. There will also be a real ultrasound device, a digital nose and surgical equipment for the public to try out for themselves. The researchers present their projects in an entertaining way, using interactive exhibits, science comics, videos and games.

Discussions and workshops will offer more in-depth information for children, young people and adults. Participation is free of charge. You can find out more on the website https://www.cosmo-wissenschaftsforum.de/

The exhibition has been designed for science enthusiasts of all ages from 12 years and upwards. It is free of charge and can be visited from Tuesday to Thursday between 1 pm and 6 pm.
