Podcast with Prof. Gerhard Fettweis about transformative Mobile Communication Technologies

In the 50th episode of the Digital Pacemaker Podcast, Prof Gerhard Fettweis, founding director and CEO of the Barkhausen Institut, talks to the podcast hosts Ulrich Irnich and Markus Kuckertz on the topic of "How will future mobile communications technologies change our Internet?”.

The Dresden-based mobile communications expert explains how an initial idea on the issue of trustworthiness led to the founding of the BI: “Devices [must] be at least as trustworthy, if not more, as the most trustworthy person with whom we interact. [...] To achieve this, we need to understand: ’What does trustworthiness mean?’ and, ’How can we then realize and implement the whole thing in technology?.’ This is a huge challenge that we are taking on at the Barkhausen Institut.”

Prof. Fettweis also talks about developments in mobile communications technology and how they are changing our lives. He explains how we can design new technologies to be secure and trustworthy by default.
