COREnext: Trustworthiness and Sustainability for 6G
COREnext-consortium meets up for first Kick-Off-Meeting
From Jan. 17 to Jan. 18, 2023 the kick-off for our new Horizon Europe project COREnext took place in Dresden with 46 participants from ten European countries.
The EU project COREnext, funded with about 13 million Euros, aims at developing a computing architecture and digital components for sustainable and trustworthy B5G and 6G processing.
For the project, Barkhausen Institut is coordinating a group of 23 partners over a three-year project period to design proprietary processors, new antenna designs, operating systems for the new radio electronics, and decentralized and open-source network architectures (Open RAN) for the future 6th generation (6G) mobile communications standard.
The participating European research institutions and companies from the telecommunications and microelectronics sectors are striving to design a multiprocessor system from which European semiconductor manufacturers and telecommunications companies can at the same time build their own circuits. The goal is to establish sustainable European technology sovereignty on the path to 6th generation mobile communications and future telecommunications standards, to promote innovation and business opportunities for companies, and to provide a solid foundation for the success of European industry.

The project is funded by the European research and innovation program Horizon Europe.
