BI contributes to White Paper on Trustworthiness
COREnext White Paper: "Trustworthiness - The Key to Europe's Digital Future"
As part of the COREnext project, BI researcher Michael Roitzsch has contributed to the writing and dissemination of the white paper “Trustworthiness – The Key to Europe’s Digital Future”. This paper examines the role of trust and security in the digitalization process and highlights the essential steps to maintain Europe's leadership position in high-value consumer goods.
While underlining the significance of trustworthiness for both humans and machines, the paper describes the opportunities as well as the challenges regarding the digitalization of Europe. Furthermore, it highlights the need for research in four specific technology directions relevant for a secure digital future:
- Trustworthy Processing Cores that serve as a foundation for all digital applications.
- Scale-out Technologies for Disaggregation that refer to the task of physically separating the resources while keeping the process efficient.
- Sensing and Future physical layer (PHY) that protects user privacy within the infrastructure of communication networks.
- Trustworthy Future RAN (Radio Access Network), that consists of a programmable network infrastructure for which Europe should develop its own technology to improve digital sovereignty.
By implementing these key factors, Europe can move forward to build a trustworthy network for the future.
